Best Entry Level Road Bike

Learn What's Important and How To Find The Bike Of Your Dreams

Cheap Road Bikes

More people than ever are taking up cycling as a way of improving their cardiovascular health and fitness or to lose weight. Some find it a great way of meeting people and spending time together with friends. This means they have to go out and buy a bike and are often looking for cheap road bikes to get themselves started.

For beginners this is a great choice as these bikes are designed for many uses. They can be used for casual riding, commuting, touring or even racing. Hitting the road on a quality bike is a remarkable experience. But do you know what to look for when you’re shopping for that new or used bike to get you started?

As the economy continues to struggle making the right choice when buying a cheap road bicycle that will meet both your needs and your budget is more important than ever. In my opinion it really is all about what do you really need and what can you afford.

You don't want to settle for a bike that is cheaper if you are not satisfied with its quality. At the same time the word cheap often means you are going to have to make choices around quality. Just be aware that a typical entry level road bike from a quality manufacturer is going to start at over $700. That means anything less than that in price is going to have an effect on quality.

That doesn’t mean there aren’t good bikes out there for less it just means they are going to be more difficult to find and are likely to give you less quality than you might like.

I have often found the best deals can be found online. This may be because the online marketplace is a lot more competitive. Even in large cities bike shop owners may only have to compete against 2 or 3 other shops and they may not even carry brands that are the same.

Although online may not be the best place to buy a new or used bike. If you aren’t having any luck finding a bike locally it certainly is a great alternative. I was surfing the web the other day and came across a really decently priced new road bikes. But it also is a great place to find used road bikes.  Today Schwinn bikes are what they used to be but they are still the best of the lower priced bikes.

The problem with buying online is you can’t sit on the bike before you buy it. You have to rely on the make and the seller’s description of the bike. This means you have to be careful and maybe only deal with a source that you can trust.

For me if I can buy local at even a little higher price that is what I like to do. That way you get the help you need to set it up properly as well they will help fit the bike to you and be able to service it over time.

Cheap road bikes are sometimes hard to find at least one with some quality but the wait can sometimes be worth it all. Enjoy the search and enjoy your rides.
